    Sump Pumps & Sump Pits

Sump pumps and sump pits manage exterior water runoff.  The sump pit collects the accumulating water while the pump removes it from the house and deposits it outside via a drain pipe.  Available in a wide assortment of sizes, sump pumps and sump pits can be extremely useful in flooding situations, and are an excellent preventative measure in areas that are prone to flood.

A sump pit is an area that is created to catch water and other spilled liquids.  One of the most common places to find a sump pit is in a basement, where it is used to drain water so that the basement does not flood or sit in water.  In addition to a sump pit, a sump pump is typically used in the same area.  The pump allows you to remove the liquids from the pit and keep the water levels from rising, causing an overflow that may backup into your basement or other area.
